Ferdinand Piech and his main automobile empire of the world

         Ferdinand Piech, Volkswagen former chairman and chief executive, transformed the German company to a global automotive powerhouse. Ferdinand Piech was a brilliant engineer, who was betting on a modular construction method that allowed Audi, Skoda, and VW brands to share about 65% common parts. He turned around Volkswagen, the world’s largest carmaker by sales, helping to achieve greater economies of scale.

          Ferdinand Piech was born in Austria in 1937 year in the family of advocate Anton Piech and Louise Porsche, daughter of famous constructor Ferdinand Porsche. His career path started in 1963 in sport division Porsche, where he worked until 1971 on the creation of several models of racing Porsche. In 1972, he moved to work to Audi, where Audi 80, Audi 100 and Audi Quattro were produced under his leadership. In 1993, Piech was offered the position of Chairman of the Board of the Volkswagen Group, where he achieved great success. Tough leadership helped to make Volkswagen one of the largest automakers in the world. Later Volkswagen Group owned 12 car brands, including Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini. Piech's highest achievement was the obtainment of the Porsche brand.

He is actually named as the father of Volkswagen empire and the best car manager of the 20th century.
